Bluestones Manufacturing Solutions were very proud to support The Hospice of the Good Shepherd during the charity’s annual Christmas tree collection.

Every year The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, which is in Backford near Chester, collect and dispose of old Christmas trees from the Chester area for a donation. All the money raised during the Christmas tree collection goes straight back to the running of the hospice, which supports patients with life limiting-illnesses and their relatives, carers and friends.

The hospice relies heavily on a team of volunteers to ensure all the trees are collected and disposed of correctly, so this year Bluestones Manufacturing Solutions volunteered two of its Directors, John Rooney and Roddy Craig, to support the collection.

Roddy said, “The day that we helped out was very wet and windy, but after bacon butties were consumed, we went on our way and worked our way around Chester city centre and the immediate suburbs hunting down the discarded trees. Google map came in handy, however finding some of the trees required excellent search skills based on the location information provided!”

“During the day we collected two vans full of trees. We are very proud to have supported the hospice during this annual initiative, but also help the local environment by ensuring old Christmas trees are discarded properly.”

Bluestones Manufacturing Solutions will continue to support The Hospice of the Good Shepherd throughout this year and explore further opportunities to support its fundraising.
